Air Jordan 1 Mid, the lifestyle evolution of the AJ1 High
The Air Jordan 1 Mid, an evolution of the 1985 AJ1 High of Peter Moore, represents a milestone in the history of the sneaker. In 2001, in response to the growing popularity of sneakers in Japan, Nike launched the Co.JP line and introduced the Air Jordan 1 Mid "Japan Pack". This limited series was a success and lead to the launch of the "Patent Pack" in 2003 establishing the Jordan 1 Mid as an important figure in sneaker culture. Although the Mid offers similar comfort to the High, it is differentiated by a shorter upper and a design better suited to everyday use. The Jumpman on the tongue, instead of the traditional "Nike Air" branding, is one of the noticeable differences between the two versions.
Air Jordan 1 Mid Maison Château Rouge
For a long time less popular than the High versions, the Jordan 1 Mid experienced a popularity boost in 2020. Signature collaborations with Maison Château Rouge, Melody Ehsani, and Clot caught the sneakerheads attention, making it more popular. Since then, the AJ1 Mid has been available in a wide variety of colors, sometimes echoing the most emblematic AJ1 High color palettes, such as the "Chicago" and "UNC" colorways. The Mid's success is also due to its diversity in colors/materials, its wider availability and more affordable price compared to the High versions.
